HARD Haunted Mansion

HARD Summer

With HARD haunted mansion around the corner, many are wondering if it will suffer the same fate as HARD summer. HARD Summer (@the Forum in Inglewood, CA) promised to be a great event, but did not fulfill. After some unrest in the crowd, the Inglewood FD & PD shut the event down stating that it was unsafe.

It is clear to see why the event was declared unsafe. People were jumping from the balconies (however low it is) to get to the main stage. These are the kind of people I personally wish would stay home from events like this. Have respect for the other concert goers, and yourself. It seems like the ones displayed in the video below are becoming more and more common in the electronic music scene.

Some blame the coordinators for not having enough security on the balconies people were jumping from. Some blame the police and fire department. Some blame the morons jumping from the balconies. These raves, concerts, whatever you want to call them, are just like any other show. They follow the same rules. Just like any show, some go to these events for the music (myself), some go for the scene, and some go for the drugs. Those who do go for the drugs need to keep in control, lest problems like this happen. No matter what the reason for attending, everyone needs to realize the events are subject to shutdown at ANY time if it is deemed hazardous. I place some blame on the event coordinators, for not doing more to prevent the jumping. I place more blame on the idiots jumping from the balcony.

Whos fault was the shut down?

Who do you blame?

  • The Inglewood PD and Fire Marshall
  • The Event Coordinators
  • The People Involved in the Hazardous Activities

Good or Bad?

A two day event was accomplished with stunning success by Insomniac Events earlier this year. Electric Daisy Carnival had an incredible line up, and was carefully coordinated. Because of this, the event had very few problems, and it was an amazing show.

Whether or not HARD will succeed with a 2 day event depends greatly on event organization, whether or not people are willing to attend after HARD Summer, and whether or not they can sell tickets at a higher rate than expected: $60 per day, $100 for both.

I don’t know if HARD can pull it off. I personally think they will have no problems, but I’m sure opinion varies.

Are you attending?

  • Friday Only
  • Saturday Only
  • Both Days
  • Friday HARD, Saturday Monster Massive
